Everyone loves a great game of arcade air hockey, and now that fun is available on the iPod Touch and iPhone thanks to FlipSide 5. Touch Hockey is simple to learn and better yet, it’s a lot of fun to play. Just place your finger on the screen and guide the puck into the opponent’s goal while protecting your own, just as you would on a real table. The graphics are great and the sound adds a lot to game play experience. The puck’s movement is also extremely realistic as it hits the paddles.

One of the coolest features of Touch Hockey is the ability to play against friends on a local WiFi network. The game also includes instant replays of every goal, although this got increasingly annoying the longer I played. You’ll also have the option of increasing/decreasing the size of your goal to make things a little more interesting. Another thing to point out is that in order to play for free after 5 minutes of game play, ads begin to be displayed. A small price you’ll have to play for a free app that is definitely worth the download.
